    Hello all

I have only just started to explore the word of 3rd party plugins for FCP. Does anyone have any recommendations. I am particularly interested in finishing tools that could bring FCP’s online capabilities in line with the likes of Avid Symphony. Are there any pluin packages that Avid uses which are also compatible with FCP.

Has anyone been onlining with FCP, and how have you found it compares to Avid? What kind of problems have you come across and how have you overcome them (in relation to the fundamentals necessary for dasic onlining – ie not including complicated edits with major compositing or ridiculous amounts of effects).

    Cheers

    Franco

One problem I’ve had with onlining on FCP is dropping frames during an output. I work on DVCProHD on a G5 with less than the recommended ram. To overcome it, before I output I export a single quick time file to my fastest drive (Raid). That way Final Cut doesn’t have to look around for my render files. Other than that I’ve been really happy with it’s outputting capabilities
