I have some HDV footage with a dead pixel right in the middle of frame. From google research I have found 2 FCP plugins to fix this problem by CHV and Digital Heaven. Has anyone had success using either plugin and I’m also interested in how much rendering etc it took, as my MBP is struggling with multicam clips and multiple filters already. Presumably the best plan is to add the filter at final grade stage, after colour correction? Any advice and experience much appreciated (by a newbie).

    Thanks,

    Bjorn.

Digital Heaven’s is good. Can do 2 pixels at a time. Render is moderate.

I use DH_Reincarnation and it has worked well with me in the past, but I have not yet had to use it in projects that were sent to Color. I use it on HD material that is mostly mastered to SD or the web. It is very easy to use and has worked seamlessly in around 80-90 % of the times needed. In those that are not seamless it is still very difficult to notice unless you are clearly looking for the pixel.
