I’m running FCP 7.0.3 on three machines linked to SANmp storage. We were on 10.7.2 Lion running SANmp 4.0.0.410, but we’ve tried upgrading to 10.7.4 and SANmp 4.1.0.326 with no luck.

We’re cutting ProRes 422 media, which will work ok for a short period (30-90 minutes) before playback becomes too stuttery to continue cutting. This seems to point to a RAM issue, but the activity monitor reports plenty of available RAM, and the same issue is happening on all three machines, so faulty RAM is unlikely. AJA utility reports 200+ MB/s read and write to SAN drives, though there are intermittent dips. FCP handles our media fine when attached to local storage and not mounted to SANmp drives. Has anyone else experienced this problem with SANmp? Any solutions? Thanks!

If you had a good solid working system, why on earth are you trying to upgrade? Do you need to install 10.7.4 to solve any issues…or just keen on being on the latest and greatest?

Contact SANmp support to get their take on this?

Thanks, Shane. Maybe I wasn’t clear. I did the upgrades to try to solve this problem with no luck. They aren’t my systems… I’m just working in these rooms which apparently usually cut on Avid without issues, but I haven’t been able to get FCP to play nice.
