Just ran into a very odd occurrence in FCP.

We have the Viewer window set to “Open” so that it mirrors the Canvas window. When the clip timeline is paused the Viewer window jumps to a frame varying, but roughly 30 sec earlier than where the clip is paused on the timeline.

As soon as a new clip starts playing then everything works fine and the timecode matches up, until we hit pause again and then it starts happening again.

The clips we are working with is HDV 1080i60 and is merged with 4-8 tracks of audio.

We are on the most current version of FCP and hefty 8 core Mac machines running off of an XSans.

    Any ideas?

I feel like I have seen this before but long ago. Have you trashed your prefs?

Yes, we have trashed preferences and check four of our other machines to see if the problem was a local one but the same thing occurs on all our systems.
