After upgrading system to FCP 5.1.2 and adding a 1200a I am running the system thru various tests. Input and edit of 720p Varicam works fine…both 60 and 24 fps. However I can’t output via FW/1394 back onto the 1200a. Are their settings on the 1200a I am missing? I do a “print to tape” on FCP but nothing seems to be coming to the deck?

Setting on 1200a in 600 settings is 1394.

Also, can FCP deal with other frame rates like 12 or 48 fps?

Are you set up to Apple’s DVCPro HD 720/59.94 preset?

I never use Print to Tape, I only use Edit to Tape. Black the first 10 seconds or so of your tape, then do an Assemble Edit to the deck. The 1200A connect do insert editing, but you can make an Assemble Edit to it.

You MUST be in DVCPro HD Firewire control of the deck, RS-422 does not work for record.
