    HI,

Having trouble running Final Cut Pro (7.0.3) on a Westmere (10.6.4 os) on a unity via a Fibre connection. The Kernel is switched to 32 Bit to allow the unity to run. Client Unity software version is 5.3.2. The unity server itself is running on 5.1.4. The suite also runs a Blackmagic Eclipse.

Basically, every 30 mins or so the FCP goes to spinning wheel, and doesn’t return to normal. Opening force quit shows that neither FCP nor Fibre Manager are responding.

Can anyone see any problem with this setup?

Had a search on here and found some similar isssues, but not a solution that worked for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated…

    Cheers

Just discovered that it would seem the slot config is hardwired on the Westmere Mac Pros. Hoping correcting the pci slot order helps.

Completely deleted and reinstalled the FCP Startup HD. Still crashing.

Ok. Should anyone have the same problem – rolled the Avid Unity Fibre Manager back to v5.2 and seems to be fixed.
