    Most likely an issue with Motion’s video requirements, since FCP worked on the previous generation (and surprisingly okay).

    If you look at the specs on the Intel based mini (which sounds like the ‘early 2006’ model to me), you’ll see that it has integrated video, using an Intel chipset & shared memory with the system RAM. I think the graphic subsystem is just to low end to support FCP & Motion.

    I agree with the previous posts. The only program in the studio that won’t run on the mini is Motion. I have the entire studio and a mac mini (G4 – 1.42 superdrive). I edit on a beefy dual G5 at work, but I can’t afford one of those for home use. However, I have edited countless projects on the mini without any problems at all on FCP5. I have also authored DVDs with DVD Studio Pro and edited audio with Soundtrack. All of those apps work without a problem on the G4 mini…so I assume that they will run even better with the universal Studio on the Intel minis…
