I tried connecting to the camera with the mini DV FW cable to FW400 to Sonnet adaptor to FW800.
Thinking that might be the problem, I drove an hour to the only Mac store on the island that carries
FW cables and bought the mini DV FW to FW800. That didn’t work either.
I checked the menu settings on the camera, all set for VCR DV OUT – On.
    Still nothing.
I took the camera and hooked it up mini DV FW to FW400 to my daughter’s Mac Book and iMovie
wouldn’t see the camera either. I took the tape out and put it in a cheezy Sony DV camera and
iMovie saw the footage although horizontally stretched. Made my model look fat! Ouch.

I’m thinking it might be that I’m running OSX 10.5.8 and for some reason there’s no driver?
I’ve posted over in the DVX100 forum on the Cow, but Noah doesn’t seem to know either.
I shot in 24p Advanced pulldown and set up my Final Cut project with the same settings.
Anyone with a similar experience? Shane?
