  • FCP not recognizing deck since upgrade to FCP HD

    Hi all,
Yesterday I upgraded the OS (on my G5) to 10.3.9 in order to install some software. Along with the OS upgrade, the Mac wanted to upgrade the different software apps in the system, including FCP. Can’t hurt, I thought. It upgraded FCP to FCP HD. Now the system won’t recognize the deck (a Sony DSR-20 which is connected via firewire). I’ve tried unplugging and restarting and have looked through all of the menus & preferences, and I can’t figure it out.
Hopefully there is a setting I’ve overlooked or something like that.
Much thanks to anyone who can help me.

Have you tried searching this forum? It comes up VERY often. You need to trash your QuickTime receipts. For exact instructions do an advanced search on this forum.

There you go… I know you should be searching for it… but I’ve got it on my BOOKMARKS list.

Make sure you search these vast archives for other issues you might have first though.

    Thanks,

Did you just run the upgrade on the OS and FCP or did you do a clean install

    Thanks Steve,
After trashing the quicktime receipts I’m back in business. I had to re-install Quicktime too.
