Just thought i would share my McGuyver story with people who can appreciate it.
Long story short – our public access station was taken off line today because the building we work out of was being rewired. My exec did not want a slate on all day and wanted a solution (this was last thursday) Portable generators would have cost an incredible price, so after some thought , i came up with this: since i read this this new matrox mxo box has its own genlock, why couldn’t fcp output programming at the head end? in theory why not. i have 10 hrs of programming on a firewire drive, a new powerbook and a brand new mxo from b and h.
went to the head end, they gave me a shelf, i set it up this morning and one 10 hr “print to video” later, it worked perfectly!!
once again, i am in awe of apple and fcp, and now matrox is back in my good books ( don’t ask)
Hope this made sense, its been a long day
    thanks for listening!

Way to cool and nothin exploded, crashed or toppled over.. That is the best report I have heard for the new Matrox. But you didn’t do the “Wally drop Test”? Can the Matrox survive a 6 foot drop from that shelve.
