FCP Music/Timeline Slip Problem
Hi all:
I was writing to inquire if any other editors have this problem w/ FCP 5.02 and/or can offer any solutions. It has me at a bit of a loss.
The Problem:
I’m working on a reality show with lots of music beds, stings, et cetera. Ocassionally, when playing back my sequences, the in/out points of the music edits will slide within the clip (i.e. the clip in the timeline is in the correct place, but the inpoint of the clip has mysteriously shifted). For example, if I cut a bed in from the beginning of the track to start a scene, when I play the scene, the music will now start as if I marked an inpoint 30 seconds or so into the original music clip. To make things even more confusing, when I load the clip from the timeline into the viewer, the waveform shows the clip starting where I originally wanted it to (i.e. the beginning), but still continues play the clip from a different in point later in the song. This has only happened w/ my music beds and not w/ synch or other audio in the project.
If anyone has had this problem and/or can offer a solution short of reimporting the entire music library, I’d very much appreciate it.
Best,
Kevin
