I am hoping to capture 2 hours of VHS footage using FCPHD, and then convert to the footage to MPEG1 AND MPEG2. Can this process me done during capture? If not, which compressor should be used during capture? Which program will provide the most easily automated/quickest compression of this footage?

    Hi J

Unfortunately MPEG1 / MPEG2 encoding is too processor intensive to be done on the fly in real time during capture, so you will have to encode after capturing.

What I would do is log and capture all the clips, and then simply drag the capture scratch folder for the project onto the Compressor Batch window.

Add your presets, and then submit the batch.

    Simple!

    Hope this helps!

    Regards
    Peter
