Appreciate any help people can give me. I need to convert a FCP quicktime movie to Flash – professional standard – but am not sure which software to use. A friend suggested visual hub would have worked before it closed down. I’ve come across FilmRedux, which looks like the open source version of vis hub. Has anyone used this or can anyone recommend any other converters? (e.g iskysoft video converter for mac) – free if poss though. Never done this before so any tips welcome. Thanks.

    Hi Tom,

Its not necessary to convert quicktime to flv. Use QuickTime to encode with the H.264 codec, then delete the .mov extension and add .flv. Works perfectly and is an accepted standard.

Thanks for the advice Joel. Exported from FCP using quicktime conversion with the following settings: H.264/Quality High: keyframe rate: 24 / encoding mode: multipass / dimensions: 640 x 360 Sound: Format: Integer/ sample rate: 48.000khz / sample size: 24-bit.
Followed your advice, renaming the quicktime file extension as .flv – picture and audio fine on the mac but have had a call saying there is picture but no audio when playing through flash. Am I missing something out?

    For example, would Zamzar work?
