FCP & Motion round-tripping
Posted by Chris Stevens on December 20, 2012 at 2:35 pmWhen round-tripping a clip from FCP (V6.0.6) to Motion the render quality is never as good as exporting from Motion, regardless of settings set to best?

December 20, 2012 at 3:41 pmIn FCP, go to Sequence, Settings. Then click on the Render Control tab. Set the Quality tab to Best or check the Always Use Best Quality When Rendering Movies. Setting Best in Motion will not make it Best in FCP. Hope this helps and best of luck.

December 20, 2012 at 4:07 pmThanks for the reply Stephen. I always have the “Always use Best settings” in the render tab. This is why I don’t understand my issue!

December 20, 2012 at 4:09 pmIt should look just as good. If you want to upload the project file or better a part of it I would be more then happy to take a look at it. How does it look worse?

December 20, 2012 at 4:21 pmRegardless of my Sequence settings, when round-tripping, it always renders in normal. Very odd!
Thanks for you help Stephen.Chris Stevens – Waterline Media. Marine Production Company.
