    Question, bare with me:

if a clip (from Canon 5D), lets call it “MVI_01,” has been digitize through Log & Transfer. Then renamed in the browser as “Clip_01_Day_02,” and someone right clicked on the clip in the browser and chose Rename, File to Match Clip, thus renaming MVI_01, in the Capture Scratch to now be Clip_01_Day_02 and erasing the original name, is there any way to get back that original name or find the original source? We do not know what the original file name was called and are searching the Card from the 5D to find that clip.

We can tell that the clip we have is not the original because its HDV.

Sorry this is confusing, but we have project getting ready to go to conform for color grading and whoever transcoded the clips, transcoded to HDV, no idea why they didn’t use ProRes, and renamed a few clips. Those clips are now missing and we don’t have a way to reveal the original source material for color grading. Is there any hope in finding the source or are we stuck with transcoded HDV junk?

Any help would be appreciated. thx.
