FCP Loses Renders
Posted by Andy Lancaster on September 7, 2008 at 2:31 pmI am having a problem with FCP (6.0.4) sequences becoming unrendered. I will render the entire sequence and then the next time I open that sequence it needs to be rendered again. Is there a reason for this and maybe a solution?

September 7, 2008 at 2:53 pmhi Andy,
That issue was very common back in FC 5.1.x (think was that) but was fixed.
I really haven’t heard of this problem in FC 6.

I do and they lose their affiliation with the render files every time I re-open the project. Is there a work around, all seeing, all knowing, Mr. Garchow?

No. No, there’s not and it’s highly annoying, unless you call exporting all of your clips and reimporting them as ‘hard’ media a work around.

I heard that. Funny thing about the smooth cam renders. If I do smooth cam on the native XDCAM 1080p 30 clips the renders are never there the next time I open the project. But awhile back I down converted some stuff to DV NTSC first and then applied smooth cam to a few clips that needed it and those renders are rock solid. weird.

As long as FC don’t delete the render files, you can always bring them manually to your Browser.
