I have a large project I am working in, and am having trouble with the spinning wheel whenever I click out of Final Cut. The project file is 26MB, it has lots of footage including subclips, and several sequences, though I only have 1 sequence open at a time. Any time I click out of FCP, to the finder, the desktop or any application, and click back in FCP, The spinning wheel comes up for at least 45seconds, sometimes longer. Even if the only application running is FCP, I still have trouble with the load time when I click in it. Is their any way around this? or a way to make FCP run faster? I can[t break down this project into smaller ones since all the footage is being used to make a trailer and I need all the footage in organized bins to use. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Did you ever find a solution for this? What type of footage are you working with? Are you working on local disks or on shared storage? The more detail provided the better the results.
