FCP: Link/Merge multiple video clips with one audio clip in timeline
Hi,
I am trying to create (ideally) a merged clip that contains multiple video clips, with their own audio (Canon 7D footage) with one long audio take of a performance. I have these synced in a timeline, and have tried linking all and dragging into the browser, but this only works with one video and multiple audio clips.I have also gone down the route of creating a QT reference video and re-importing, but I don’t want to have clips that are outside of the scope of batch capturing the whole sequences from archived disc images, if possible.
Obviously, merging the clips has worked as usual on single items. In this instance I would like to have one long clip for the performance, which has black when there is no video (just audio) and audio and video together in sync for when the camera was running. I didn’t want to cut up the audio at this stage to fit only the audio clips, as I would like to have one clip to find for the performance, instead of one for whole audio, and five separate for the video clips with the same audio synced. It really needs to be able to be easily archive restored, whatever the method.
I might be missing something simple, but I can’t seem to find anything that fits the bill. If anybody has any ideas, that would be great.
Thanks in advance.
