I installed Leopard on one of my mac pros with Final Cut Studio on it. I upgraded to 6.0.2 FCP and 7.3.1 Quicktime. Final Cut seems very sluggish. It seems to take forever to open and then I get the spinning wheel of death for about 2 minutes and then it lets me edit. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a work around?

If you don’t perform an erase and install of your new OS, you’ll likely not be happy… backup first, or buy a second startup disk drive… I do that so I can upgrade until the cows come home… keeping that last working system online at all times until the newbie is happy then I use it next time when the next OS or version of studio is released.
