I have been having the same issue with interlacing. I am trying to export footage as avi or dv using Quicktime conversion, the footage does not show interlacing while working in fcp but shows drastic interlacing after being exported as anything I have tried so far and with progressive scan set lower upper fields?. thanks

[standfast] “I have been having the same issue with interlacing”

Same issue as what? Video is interlaced unless you are shooting 25p or 30p. If you shot 24p, then every 4th and 5th frame is interlaced. What’s the problem?

When I export using quick time conversion the interlacing becomes very noticeable compared to the un exported version. Thanks for the help

    Why are using Quicktime Conversion?

I am trying to create an avi or dv file from final cut. the only options i found to export in those formats that I have are quicktime conversion and compressor and they both gave the same result

If you are working in a DV timeline, all you have to do is go to export quicktime movie (not Quicktime conversion) and choose current settings. If you need to move the resulting export to another machine, check the ‘make self contained’ box. Leave the recompress all frames UNchecked. This will make a Quicktime movie in the DV codec. Don’t use quicktime conversion.
