    Hi–

So I’m having quite a little issue here. I used log and transfer to get my avchd file into FCP using ProRes 422 (HQ). Then I used txmuxer/belight on a PC to extract the audio, since fcp wont import in 6 channel 5.1. I then bring the six mono wav’s into fcp and line them up with the picture and the stereo tracks FCP imported for the same file — they don’t match.

I have tried this several different ways, and programs and all come out with the same result.

More than that, but when I check how much they’re out of sync, it’s by 10 frames. But when I check the Timing properties of the wav and the picture, FCP is saying it’s only off by 1 frame…?

    So I’m stuck.

when talking about out of sync it is important to state whether it is drifting 10 frames out by the end or is it always 10 frames out from start to finish.

Other things to post, length of the video and audio.

The imported audio and video is listed as 05:26:24 and the wav audio at 05:26:25. It is drifting, meaning it starts in sync but goes out by 10 frames by the end.

I brought the imported audio and the wav’s into DigitalPerformer, and performed a time scale to get them to match, essentially shortening the wav’s by 10 frames. So now the imported audio and the wav’s match — but neither match with the picture. They’re still out of sync by about 2-3 frames at the end. There happen to be flash pictures being taken all through the clip, and they go out by that much at the end. So I’m just stumped.

You can use clipwrap to transcode to pro res and keep the 5.1 audio. Brilliant app!

Wow. That looks like just what I need. I’ll definitely check it out.

    Thanks 🙂
