  • FCP: how to crop from 16:9 to 4:3?

    hello,

I have to create a video using two sources, one in 4:3 (640×480), and one in 16:9 (1080×576).
The final product is designed for the web so my guess is that the best would be to aim for a 640×480 format.
However, I am not sure how to handle the downsizing of the bigger video bits. I would like to use a cache so as to target the best frame for each shot.
I am therefore planning to create a sequence for each shot (fortunately there are few of themy), import the cache, adjust it…and then, how do I crop?? (it is the easiest thing to do in photoshop but in FCP?…)

    thanks for the help!

    Marianne

sorry, I just found. pretty basic really, I just added the 16:9 clip to a 640 sequence et adjusted the position and size of the frame.
the solution is sometimes jst a cup of tea way!
