I finished a project for a client and turned over the tapes and HD with native HDV files from FCP6 along with the ProRes masters and H.264 HD versions of their shows. Their multi-media editor has FCE and would like to use some of the HDV clips to edit a few web based projects. Is there a way to covert or import the native HDV files into FCE? Or, is there a way to convert FCP6 HDV clips to AIC files for FCE outside of FCE? After reading many posts here about HDV to AIC I think it might be a lot easier for them to upgrade to FCS. Any thoughts out there?

Afraid not. You’d have to export an AIC version for them.

    All the best,
