ok, problems exporting fcp hdv project to dvdsp. Can’t do it the old way of straight mpeg-2 out(which took about 45 min). Have tried various settings (quicktime; quicktime conversion; current settings; reference..etc) that took from 6 to 35 hours in Compressor- and still didn’t work. What are the best procedures & settings for highest quality export for a 30 min hdv project that dvdsp will accept?

If you want your final output to be letterboxed, I’ve found that you can copy your sequence and paste it into a standard def timeline. Then let it render out, export QT movie, then drag it into compressor. The rendering time should be a little bit longer than the length of the sequence, but for me it has the best results. Doing it this way is also faster because Compressor encodes SD a lot faster than HDV. In fact, I’ve found that HDV renders generally take longer than DVCProHD. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Your suggestion did work for footage, but for some reason graphics did not scale into letterbox. They are expanded out beyond safe action. Any suggestions?
