FCP HD not connecting to Panasonic DVX100
Dear CC community, I have relied on your help time and again without ever having to post anything. Until now. This is a problem that I have seen on the site but haven’t found a solution.
I have device control (I can see what’s in my camera on my external monitor, and can control the device through FCP but cannot see anything in log and capture window, nor in external video boxes). FCP says that dv device is missing.
– FCP 4 HD
– Capturing on Panasonic DVX 100 (which I have captured hundreds of hours of stuff from before)
– I believe it has something to do with an upgrade to QT 7.
– the cables, camera, firewire plug all work on other computers or with other things (external drive etc)
– Have thrown out FCP preferences and QT receipts, still nothing.Frustrated, needing someone who’s been there.

Follow it step by step and you’ll be ok.

The one step I haven’t tried is downloading the latest version of QT, as I’m on a slow internet and it takes hours. Looks like that’s what’s holding me back. Thanks.
