FCP HD importing problems (ON A DEADLINE)
I downloaded some video game trailers to edit for a demo reel and they just won’t work with me. Their in Quicktime at 852×480 at 15 fps. Knowing that they will not play in my FCP HD, I converted the clips to Quicktime at 720×480 at 30 fps. I open up the new clips and they look fine and plenty good for editing, but when I try to import the new footage I get the following error message:
File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown
The sequence preset is in DV NTSC at all your standard definition settings, and this error is for a single file I have not tried to do a batch import. Any advice at all on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
It is quicker to go through your enemies than around them.

Run through compressor with advanced conversion options… there is a folder with presets for different tape formats…
Bigger issues though
1. you are violating copyright
2. why would I or anyoen hire you for cutting video game trialers… get some original footage… approach an indi filmaker via craiglist etc… get out of Cyberspae and into the production community.trust me

The demo I made was for a website called GameTrailers.com so I felt it was the best idea. Thamks for the advice though, now I just have to get some original footage.

Well…. I guess that’s be a reason….
but you should still be careful about copyright….
