Uncompressed 8- and 10-bit SD (4:2:2 YUV) via FireWire or a PCI cardThis is an extract from apple ‘s website. This means that FCP with a BlackMagic card does not work at 10bits RGB 4:4:4? even if the board captures at 4:4:4 it seams that the software converts the data to work with it. I think that if the software is able to work HD 4:4:4 RGB 10 Bits Apple would remark it right?

When working with 4:4:4 you’ll be capturing either with BlackMagic’s or AJA’s codec so Apple’s’ specs don’t come into play there. FCP is resolution independent so it will support whatever the on-board capture card supports.

No because Apple doesn’t have a 4:4:4 codec, at least not that I’ve seen. not sure if it will be introduced with FCP 5, but both AJA and BlackMagic have 4:4:4 HD workflows available. If Apple alone does not supply the codec, I suppose they won’t mention it.
