FCP having problems opening when Firewire connected
Posted by Nicholas Johnson on July 27, 2006 at 5:15 pmSo this morning I wake up, boot up my system and FCP lags, or won’t open until I unplugged my firewire cable that connects my VTR…what’s going on?
it worked fine yesterday…

A great way to do this is to use “FCP Rescue” a free Apple Script that will Trash the Preferences for you (and restore nearly all of your user settings afterward).
There are versions for FCP (Pro) & FCE (Express) and a new one for FCP 5.Download these free Apple Scripts at

July 28, 2006 at 9:15 amIt sounds like it could be a conflict on the Firewire bus. Are you using firewire drives? Are you using AJA I/O?
