I’ve been converting 7D 1080p footage to ProRes422 without a hitch for days by dragging single clips or up to 6 into the upper left window. (When I tried to drag them to lower left ‘drag clips here’ message, it wouldn’t take them and DID take them in the upper left.) I’d set ins/out, ‘add clip to que’. Now, if I drag 4 clips, it might ‘not see’ 1 or more of them. They don’t ‘crunch quickly’ and get added to the upper window cue as they had been doing. Tried trashing prefs. I’m using 7.0.3 current version. Now it’s worse. When I drag a (.mov) file in message = “Movie contains unsupported media… invalid directory structure… choose folder that matches media.” Help please?

The Log and Transfer of H.264 files isn’t supported in FCP’s Log and Transfer window directly without the use of the Canon Plugin for it:

    https://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_5d_mark_ii#DriversAndSoftware

Choose the Mac OS, and download “EOS MOVIE Plugin-E1 for Final Cut Pro Ver1.1”

Gotta say though, most folks are using MPEG Streamclip, or Compressor or other compression software for this and not using the Canon plug in for whatever reason.

Thanks Jerry… I had gotten the correct plugin already. Today I’ve have been fiddling with the ‘why’? Some files I was ‘group dragging in’ were upper case (.MOV), some were lower case (.mov). Finally noticed why some appeared ready to log and some didn’t. Changed all back to upper case, everything’s working fine. BTW, I had difficulty getting the Streamclip work flow down, set in/out, batch, etc, so now that I’m back in action, I’ll finish up this conversion with log/transfer. Thanks!
