  fcp freezes on capture(is ram the issue?)

  hey everybody,
  we are trying to capture our hd footage w/a sony 1200a going firewire into fcp with an aja board. it will capture a second or two then it freezes on a frame for a few frames then continues capturing leaving the rest of the clip out of sync.
  we trashed our preferences and are trying again to no avail. i spoke to someone who suggested we add more ram. i wasn’t sure if that was the solution. does anyone have any ideas?

  here are the specifics:
  2 seats
  G5 Tiger v10.4.3
  Dual 2.7 GHz
  2.5 GB DDR SDRAM
  fcp 5.0.4
  aja kona 2
  4 t. xserve running with fibreshareX
