I’ve got a 3 minute DV video that is exporting to QT as just 673 MB. Isn’t this too small to be uncompressed? I need to give it to someone for projecting on a big screen on DVD. I’ve selected current settings, self-contained. It was shot on Canon HV20. DV NTSC 720×480. Bit rate 30,286. Thanks.

Elizabeth- To add to Dave’s comment the DV export IS compressed. The DV codec compresses about 5:1.

Thank you – I did and it looks good. Why does the compression actually improve the quality? (particularly text on black slug?)

Right. Actually it looks solid in viewer, fuzzy in QT and clear in DVD. Can I ask your thoughts on MP2 vs. H264 for DVD?
