Greetings, I am in last phases of my first video. I burned the timeline to a DVD and threw out what I believe/believed to be file duplicates, clips I no longer needed and, most unwisely, threw out the trash. Next ime I tried to open FCP, the program flashes a few opening windows but quickly disappears and FCP does not open. It was reccomended, to start, that I search for Auto Save (it is empty), or put preferences in the trash and restart the computer. I did that also but it remains a flash in the pan, as it were, before it disappears …..Any suggestions appreciated. Lauramon

Without knowing exactly what you threw out (because, I guess YOU don’t know what you threw out) I wouldn’t know where to start.

Do you have any OTHER FCP projects on your Mac?

If so, try opening another older project that does not have any relation to the one you’re having problems with.

If THAT one opens, FCP is OK but you must have “tossed” some important files in the “problematic” project.
Without some hands-on expert help, you may be in trouble.

If another older project does not open…
Try Reinstalling FCP from its install disc(s), then try opening your project again.
