FCP export to Quicktime

As a test for a multi-screen display, i want to have a couple of HD-sized footages arranged in a box formation (4×4) within a single sequence in FCP. Hence, I am expected to set the sequence size to maybe around 7680×4320. However, FCP forces the maximum size to 4000×2000. Why is this so? Also, when i tried to export a Quicktime from this 4000×2000 sequence, all it gives me is black and without audio but with the correct duration. Has anyone encountered this before?

Interesting. Can you explain the “Multi-screen display” a bit further? Are you doing projectors? What output I/O are you using ?
You are most likely going to have to size down the footage to fit into the highest sequence size your I/O will support.

I dont know if the limit in resolution is a matter of QT or FC. But If you want to work with those sizes iI think you need a program that support un-limited resolution for example Shake. I guess AE7 can manage such a files too.

Tks Rafael, I have yet to test putting all the footages together in After Effects. I will let you know if that is successful. I may encounter problems again when I render out from AE to Quicktime but lets hope it works. Cheers!
