FCP EXPORT to QT with Color Correction Pre-uncompressed
Oh, boy…here’s a mouthful question(!). Ok, if someone could clear this up for me: I’m in FCP 5.1.4 (Can’t wait for Apple to fill my FCP Studio 2 order!!!!), working with DV-NTSC 24p (via the DVX100-A)…my project (I will be going to DVD, not the web) is finished except for final color correction. Now…I realize (and I am assuming that I am correct, here) that if after I color correct, it would be advantageous to EXPORT to QUICKTIME by first changing the setting to SETTINGS>NONE (no compression), then RENDER, then EXPORT to SELF-CONTAINED MOVIE. Ok, I understand that. But my question is this: BEFORE I do final color correction, would I get better “color correction” results (via my external SONY video monitor) if I jump the gun and change my settings to NONE (No compression) BEFORE I actually begin the color correction process instead of waiting until I am just about to EXPORT??? Whew!!
