April 23, 2009 at 9:57 amHi Devin,
I’m very sorry if I made you feel bad.
You just posted too fast. Many times I do the same and post without reading carefully the other posts.
That ‘s not much important.
What is important is that you forget and forgive my dry answer and feel confortable here.
I wish my English would be better. I think I’m a guy with a lot of sense of humor but the limitations with the language doesn’t let me show that. At least I will try keep giving some help with FC. And your help will be always welcome.
Best,

April 23, 2009 at 2:40 pmNot a deal, I went years thinking FCP would transfer TC on export and did those steps and made things so much easier.

April 24, 2009 at 3:31 amOK Bovine Friends. Here’s the latest. Problem solved with a re-install of Quicktime. I guess it was something in the export component that flaked out.
So, if you find yourself in this situation where timecode is not present after exporting a self-contained quicktime, then first re-install quicktime. Go to apple.com and download the latest QT, and install. I didnt have to do anything special as far as digging around in boxes for a QT Pro serial number or anything, it was all retained. Along the way I should mention that before reinstalling Quicktime I had reinstalled Final Cut, which I cant say had any effect.
Hope this helps the next poor soul out there trying to find meaning in ‘Pro’ of Final Cut Pro. Wonderfully marketed, mostly functional, most of the time.
Sorry, Im just whining a bit… Apple’s lack of advancement with this suite is so frustrating. $1300.00 Will certainly buy alot of iPhone apps! I wonder how many registered FCP Studio users are out there. There is no perfect editing app out there, but Apple’s got so many people hooked and the bait is long dead.
AVID… I miss you.
The funny thing is I bet there is someone on the AVID board whining just as much as I am.
Live on!

July 28, 2009 at 1:53 pmI was doing a search and this post came up…how exactly do you set FCP to use your source clip TC when exporting to QT? Currently it uses the timeline TC.
