I am trying to export a 2-hour video from Final Cut Pro. It’s HD in HDV1080i60 format. It currently has been exporting for 6 1/2 hours and says it has another 16 hours to go. I have nothing else connected to my computer except the external hard drive this video is exporting to. It is fully rendered as well.

Is this normal? Any suggestions on what I can do to speed up the process?

It might be normal, but with zero info on how you are exporting (QT movie, Conversion, self contained, reference, or Compressor) and what you are exporting to (file format, frame size, frame rate conversion, codecs) it is impossible to make a judgment call.

    Thanks.

I am exporting as a Quicktime movie, I am making it self-contained.

Not the info we are looking for but HDV does have to conform. Depending on your system, it could take quite awhile.

    ProRes is a lot quicker.
