  • FCp error! Weird error pop up slow startup!

I am experiencing slow start up with my FCP. It takes forever to load then pops up a weird screen. The screen started to appear only during start up, but now seems to pop up randomly . This only happens when running FCP.

See image below. I was working off an external hard drive and then copied media and folders over to a local drive. I am wondering if it is searching for some type of render files or various media.

My scratch disk location hasn’t changed. It is the same on every project I work on.

Yes, I have done that but I am getting the weird error posted in my 1st post.

    Thanks

I had a wired one lke this a while back. Deleting my thumbnail and waveforms cache did the trick. Then open the project and tell it to forget anything it couldn’t find and saved the project. Cod work.

Cool…well, I’m curious to see if it worked for the OP. My problem started after deleting render files directly in finder rather than using the render manager.

We move files around from computer to computer so THE Render files were not copied also. Perhaps this was the issue too.

Thank you again! You saved me a lot of time.

Nice! Glad I could help. That’s one of those really obscure things so whenever I see it on here, I suggest that fix!
