FCP Emergency “General Error”
We are working on a project and the computer hung. Rebooted the system and when we went to open the the timline we get a “General Error” message. I went into the vault and tried to open a version from their and all files associated with this project will not open we get the same general error. I shut down the drive that had the footage on it and the program still does the same thing.
All other projects seem to open fine just this one project. any suggestions would be helpful. I did scrap the preferences. -

repairing permission for the system drive using disk utility often helps me with general errors.

Are your project files on an external drive? if so, move them to your desktop and try it again. I have seen this problem happen on rare ocassion.
