  • FCP effects, Plugins?

I was working in avid adrenaline at the studio i intern at and they had a ton of effects, they had the bcc boris plugin package. I was looking for a basic “glow” effect in fcp 4.5 and there isnt any glow. Is there a good basic cheap plugin to get more effects in FCP? Magic bullet and natress are expensive I believe.

There have been quite a few threads on this lately. Do a search on Plugins and Plug-Ins.

Boris Continuum Complete are a great set of plug-ins. I consider $700 for the package to be cheap.

You can create glows using Compositing and blur in FCP.

Film Effects has a hell of a lot in it. Tools you can make practically any film look out of. I don’t know what type of glow you want though. Tell me more or show me, and I’ll figure it out for you, but I think you can do it in Film Effects.

I’ve been using Graeme’s film effects as a soft focus filter. It gives a really rich look if you spend a minute or 2 tweaking it. You can also play with the color balance, saturation, grain & tint to achieve lots of dream-scape style effects.

Film Effects wins the Arnie seal of approval!

Im going to have to look into it. Basically I want to use it as a transition. At the end of the clip bring up the glow for 10 frames then bring it out in the beginning of the clip 10 frames. Also is there a way to create a transition in AE and save it someohow to apply it to diff clips? Does that make sense

Check out my free glow transition in the freebie section of http://www.nattress.com

Also, check out the film flash transition in Film Effects – both of which might be what you’re looking for.
