FCP editor looking for color wheel.

September 29, 2005 at 1:27 amHello all, I mostly edit in FCP but sometimes AE is required. I am working on version 6.5Pro and was wondering if there’s an easier way to choose colors of solids by ‘dialing them in’ instead of modifying the solid settings choosing a color that I think might look okay, click ok, only to find that the color is a bit off and having to go in and choose a color ‘blind’, so to speak. Not to compare the two, but in FCP & Motion you can choose a color wheel and slide the color around until I can dial in the exact color that looks good and the color updates on my canvas and on my monitor in the sequence or comp that I’m working before I hit ok. Is there a way to do this in AE? Maybe adjusting the solid color settings is the not way to do it, if not what’s the best way?
Thanks in advance.

September 29, 2005 at 9:29 amWell, one way to get more interactive control over a Solid’s color is adding the Hue/Saturation effect to it, and adjusting the color that way.
I’ve asked Adobe for modeless control of solid settings using some kind of inspector a couple of times, but it’s not happened yet…
