Fcp dvcpro 720p50
Hi,
working on online and grade on a documentary that was \\\”allegedly\\\” shot on P2 dvcpro 720p50 but have run into some problems. First of all material shows up in fcp as dvcpro 720p50 but as framerate 25 fps(no * or anything in tc to suggest 50fps)framesize and pixel size both show up as 960×720.
The program delivery is in pal SD and so I used the recompress function and set target as prores 422HQ pal anamorphic.
This is where the problems start, a lot of the footage shows large amounts of aliasing and moire on the broadcast monitor. Have tried different a few different target formats including doing transcode in compressor, but still same aliased results. Have also tried the flicker filter in fcp but with only limited success.
Would really appriciate if anyone had any tips on how to get rid of the aliasing?

Why not downconvert the HD Sequence to SD using the Kona? I believe that model downconverts in real time.

I’ve tried that with setting the AJA ouput to 625 25i in audio/video settings, but unfortunately that looks even worse. There’s no other place to set the hd-sd downconversion for the aja card is there?
