I’m about to start work on a DVC proHD Project – Is there anything I should know or be aware of? I’m going HDCAM to DVCProHD converting on the way in and staying in The DVC ProHD Codec though out. How does it compare to HD Cam? Should I reconform at the end of the edit and keep DVC ProHD as an”offline Codec” or is it really good enough to layback with?

If you have the space to capture HDCam as uncompressed 10-bit, thats
what I would do (even though HDCam is 8-bit) to avoid the downsizing
    of DVCProHD

I thought DVCPRO HD only downsized in the camera and that in post it stayed full res, is this not this case?

    cheers,
    Rob.

    DVCPRO-HD is

    960×720 for 720p

    1280×1080 for 1080i

    1440×1080 for 1080i 25/50
