facing poss project on basic fcp system.
will be loading native firewire off j30 digibetaplayer, can i down compress on capture, ie…
I am offlining, can i compress incoming data to preserve drive space/preserve system speed by working at a lower resolution rather than be confined to dv25 throughout project?

not in front of fcp nor manual now –will this allow me to do almost everthing real time? not filtering or col correcting, only editing! The system will be all mac, no black magics etc, firewire capture to native mac card (g5 dual). Will system struggle with real time at dv25?(forgetting storage). My client is a story teller, he will live with compressed vision bu will not appreciate renders?
