So, I just shot some footage and tried to capture it on two seperate G5’s. In both cases, I received the message, “Dropped frames were detected during the last capture.”

I tried restarting the machine. Starting fresh with new timelines. On two separate machines. Not sure what’s going on. It seems like I’ve shot the footage incorrectly, somehow. I’m shooting with a VX2000.

Anybody know what’s going on with what info I’ve offered?

    Thanks,

    cris

Where are you capturing the footage? Separate hard drive, or the system drive?

What type? How is it connected? How is it formatted? What speed is it?

I was having this problem with my G5- a MAJOR friggin headache. Turns out a few things fixed it-
    in order of importance:
-turn off Virex, Norton’s, and any virus protection scanning during capture!!!
-make sure that all of your HDs have very different naming schemes
-make sure that your external HD is a fast one, with a good cable, and no other devices are on that Firewire
    or USB2 bus
-any iChat camera needs to be disconnected
    Hope this works for you.
