fcp drop frame
hi all first post on here, hope this is the right place to put it.
any help very welcome.
im taking over a job shot at 23.98
its a apple HD pro res hq project, 1920x1080p 24p the frame rate is 23.98.
so far the edit has been done in non drop frame, but im told the final delivery will be drop frame.
is there a way in fcp of changing the sequence to drop frame, as i know this will affect the running time of the 50min final film.
ive tried seeing if i can change in settings but it doesnt seem to work and drop frame in the sequence settings seems greyed out anyway.

23.98 is a non-drop frame format only. YOu cannot make it drop frame. But you can figure out the timing, so that when you output your master (only 29.97 and 59.94 can have drop frame code, 23.98 is ALWAYS NDF) you can know what the timing will be. You can either get the Timecode Calculator and figure it out:
