I know this is simple beyond words, but I’ve just moved from Avid and know I’m doing something stupid. When I mark up a range and hit delete, it lifts the marked section- how do I get it to delete the section but get the 2 sides to join up? Thanks

Are you using range select to select a section that is above the primary? If so it won’t ripple delete unless that clip is in a secondary storyline. It will only ripple delete if you mark in and out on the primary storyline.

It’s one of the tricky things when you transition from another NLE

Right! Many thanks Steve, as you say a bit of a learning curve from Avid! Thanks again Guy

Stick with it, there is a point where it all makes sense 🙂
