I am putting a 720×486 (DVCPRO HD 720p60codec)into a DVCPRO HD 720p60 960×720 sequence. When I do the image is the right aspect ratio, but it is getting cropped – alot. It’s like a 720×486 piece of the image scaled up to fill the space that the whole image should be in. Even if I scale it down, it still remains cropped on the right side and bottom. I am also putting pillar bars on to fill the sides. The bars are one targa file (864×488 square). If I put this file above the 720×486 file in the sequence, nothing happens except now there are pillar bars. BUT when I turn the composite mode of the pillar bars targa to anything but Normal, the entire 720×486 image below it (which was cropped) is is visible how it should be.

Yes I do have scale clips to sequence checked.

OK. NTSC size with DVCProHD codec.
    And which kind of pixels?

Sorry I hit the “send” too fast.
I guess that your 720×486 is NTSC pixels, but as long as you used DVCProHD codec, FC may be interpreting the pixels as HD instaed of NTSC.
Have a look in the browser.

All of the information I listed is from the browser. It says NTCS-CCIR. Would it be better to render it out on a 960×720 canvas since it is going into a 960×720 sequence?

    Hi Andy,

Open the 720×486 clip in QT and have a look to the Info window.
Tell me the size and kind of pixels.
