i have a short 10min clip that has been crashing everytime i try to export. i have trashed prefs and that doesn’t work. i’m using fcp 6. the annoying part is that everytime it crashes it takes over 1/2 hour to read the project to open the file. all my files are stored on a firewire harddrive. is there anything i can do to make it faster?

also i have a timelapse of jpg images on my sequence, is this causing it to crash? each image is jpb and rgb settings.

[vu thai] “lso i have a timelapse of jpg images on my sequence, is this causing it to crash?”
Even if that is not the reason of the crashing, FC will be much happier without a bunch of JPEGs on top.

    Hi Vu,
Any Bit Map format (PNG, TIFF, TGA,..) will make the things easier for FC.

Final Cut should handle JPEGs. I’d try exporting out sections of the film by setting in and out points on the timeline. Try two minute sections at first then stitching these back together. There is probably one dodgy image that is messing things up.
