Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy FCP crashing

I am having a problem where FCP 7 crashed on my 2010 iMac / OSX Lion / 2.8 g Intel core processor / 8gb mem

FCP works fine and I can do everything I need. If I exit FCP and then try to come back to it later… it will not open. Won’t respond I need to force quit and I have to do a hard restart of my system. Really annoying and time consuming.

Any ideas why and how to fix.

May b some plugin is causing the issue. You can analyse the crash report using a tool called digital rebellion. https://www.digitalrebellion.com

The tools at Digital Rebellion include preferences manager which will help you to backup and then trash preferences.

Crazy behaviour in FCP is often fixed with preference management.

Also repairing permissions is a good thing to do regularly. You use the onboard disk utility for that.
