  FCP crashes when toggling through timeline

  I’m working in FCP 6.0.5 on a 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon using OS X 10.4.11.

  About every five minutes or so I’ll be toggling through my timeline, or adjusting a clip and I’ll get the spinning wheel of death.

  This problem has only arisen since our upgrade to Final Cut Studio 2. Our other 2 systems, both Power PCs, haven’t had any issues. All three systems are connected via Metasan 2.2.5 Build: 6b102 to the XRaid and are running the same versions of all our software.

  I’ve tried trashing my preferences, a fresh reinstall of Final Cut Studio 2, repairing my disk permissions…

  I’m beginning to think the problem may be more related to the Raid connection than FCP (like maybe the Ethernet cable is bad resulting in a temporary dropped connection). The only weird thing is that I haven’t had any issues with Compressor or DVD Studio Pro.

  Any advice would be good advice!
